My Role

Managed the civils and groundworks packages from early cost planning through to ongoing valuation and variation control.

This included:

• Preparing detailed cost plans for enabling and groundworks packages
• Building up rates using labour, plant and material outputs
• Managing 14+ interim valuations to date
• Assessing and agreeing variations, particularly within drainage and groundworks
• Working closely with the contractor to maintain commercial control as site conditions evolved

• Existing structures dictating foundation design and sequencing
• Variable ground conditions impacting excavation and drainage works
• Coordination of multiple plots with shared infrastructure
• Ongoing drainage design development during construction
• Managing a variation heavy civils package while maintaining cost visibility

The civils and groundworks package has been delivered with clear commercial structure, with over £750,000 of works valued to date. Detailed tracking of labour, plant and materials has provided transparency across valuations and variations, ensuring both client and contractor retain confidence in the commercial position as the project progresses.
